We use real, released, recent tests to establish a meaningful starting point. Students take a full SAT or a full ACT—not a shortened hybrid that combines pieces of both, and not a proprietary assessment built for a sales pitch.

Families can book either test or take both on separate days. We never recommend taking both in one day. When a student completes both diagnostics with us, we’ll usually recommend the test that appears to be the better fit.

Practice the morning, too.

Getting ready for a test means practicing more than the questions. Most of our diagnostics take place on Saturday or Sunday mornings around 9 a.m., giving students experience getting up, heading to a testing location, and working in a room with other students.

An unfamiliar room. Someone sniffling behind you. A little noise outside. Ordinary distractions can be part of the experience, and practice gives students a chance to learn how to manage them.

Our philosophy is simple: train as you fight. Make the real testing experience feel a little less unfamiliar.

We start with the student. Then we open the report.

During the consultation, we first get to know the student: their interests, what they enjoy in school, what frustrates them, and what they’re thinking about for the future.

Then we make sense of the results together. We explain how today’s tests work and ask how the student approached the questions. Were there pacing problems? Fatigue? Unfamiliar tools or strategies? The numbers tell part of the story; the conversation helps fill in the gaps.

We look for three to five priorities that could make a meaningful difference, so families leave with a clearer sense of where to focus.

Useful guidance. No tutoring commitment required.

We approach every diagnostic consultation as though it might be our only meeting with the student. You receive the same attention and candid guidance whether you plan to work with us, prepare independently, or discuss the results with your college counselor.

Families receive a copy of the score report. We share results with a counselor only when the family has given us permission.

Our goal is for those 30 minutes to be valuable in their own right: a clearer understanding of the results, realistic expectations, and a sensible next step.
